The ancient Greeks were fully aware of the virtues of the use of herbs and rubbed mint on the dining table in order to release its wonderful smell as a form of aromatherapy. It has been used to flavor bathing water and in the 6th century it was first used for teeth cleaning cream. Mint is still widely used as herb to treat indigestion, insomnia, gastritis and is especial useful for coughing, colds and sore throats.
